my tinnitus actually started from a concert in november of 2021 when i was 20 years old, when i left i felt like fainting, i couldn’t hear anything. it was the worst feeling in the world but my problem is one of the ONLY things that makes me happy still is music, ive been to 4 more concerts since then and have 5 more planned for this year, including one tonight and it scares me every time, late last year i went to a concert for a rock band, was front row, with my earplugs in and i left feeling fine but last year i was at an outdoor venue in the lawn as far back as possible with my ear plugs in (same venue im going to tonight) and i remember feeling very weird when i left that venue, im just curious if there is anyone else in here who has not stopped going to concerts even though their tinnitus was caused by live music and what type of preventative measures they take and how you go about it also, i search endlessly for the “best” earplugs but no one seems to have an objective answer other than of course custom molds or foam plugs so im just wondering what most people think is undoubtedly the best ear plugs
I've been to a few concerts since onset in 2018, my tinnitus isn't really reactive and I just go with the flow. If you are susceptible to spiking due to loud noise I'd probably avoid concerts.
