wondering if anyone had a similar experience with scuba
Post Body

For mods, I'm not asking for medical advice (I'm under the care of a specialist), I'm just wondering if anyone has similar anecdotal experience because my situation feels like an oddity and my doctors say they haven't gotten a situation like mine.

I took a scuba test in a pool a 30 days ago, and a couple days after I had 3 big symptoms 1. extreme sensitivity to sound, 2. vertigo, 3. semi-permanent ringing in my ears. My doctor thought it was just water in my ears, and that it would go away with antibiotics. It's gotten better, but the ringing is still there. I did see the Mission Impossible movie in a dolby theater? It was a loud movie? But I doubt it's enough to give me tinnitus.

For reference, I'm not even 30 yet, I wear ear plugs a lot at work, on the train, and in loud situations like concerts, which makes me feel like this should be temporary. I know so many people who go to festivals with no ear protection, and I do it literally every time I leave the house, but enough time has passed I'm getting the feeling it's permanent. Maybe that's just the fear creeping in. I went to an ENT, and my hearing is literally perfect, and the ear is not infected/punctured, but the noise sensitivity and ringing has just plateaued -- and when I use my earplugs (which I feel like I need to cause I'm sensitive to noise anyway) the ringing gets worse. I feel like I'm losing my mind!
