What steps should I do (in order) to make the switch as painless as possible?
Post Body

My wife and I have been long term AT&T customers and I'm done paying through the nose and want to switch to Ting.

Here's our reqs:
1. She has an iphone and wants to keep it. I know she'll have to buy one through Sprint, and she'll be good to go.
2. I have an iphone 5 but will probably buy an Android. (Tired of all the sandboxing etc., want to customize the phone more, etc.)
3. we both want to keep our old numbers.
4. want to minimize the downtime from switching so that we're not down for a week or so with no phones as we dont have a land line.

That's it.

I'm not sure HOW to go about this though. Do I sell our AT&T phones on Swappa first, or call and tell AT&T we are leaving, or call Ting first, or what? Have never done this kind of thing before, even though I consider both of us to be fairly tech savvy.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!!
