My old timex indiglo- anyone know more?

It’s from when I was a teenager… Wikipedia seems to say indiglo only started in 1992, but my memory seems to say this was from the late 80s? Can anyone help? Am I confused?
Amazingly I just stuck a new battery in it (the old one had not been removed for ~30 years) and it still works perfectly including the glo function.
