I'm far from being able to set one up, but I'm so curious about how people create seamless timelapses where a plant isn't pictured with the lights turned off.

Plants do need to take a break from light, so I was wondering if anyone here has any tips on how they avoid tiny jumps between. Especially if you use a webcam instead of a dslr!
If the answer is "just have the lights on at all times" I totally understand and apologize for missing the obvious answer.
