The wife and I are in the beginning stages of planing a 3 night weekend trip to TJ in early December. We would fly into San Diego, and likely walk across the border and stay 2-3 nights in TJ. A little about us: we are in our late 40's - have taken 8 other trips to other places in Mexico. We speak just enough Spanish to get by, not into super touristy activities , or organized tours. We're mostly looking to explore the city on our own, eat tacos and other good food, and have some good drinks. We're on a mid-range budget - Not looking for fancy accommodations, just somewhere centrally located within walking distance to things that might keep us busy for a few days. Would consider an AirBnB in the right neighborhood.
Does TJ get into the Virgin Mary de Guadalupe celebrations during fir first two weeks of December?
Any suggestions on things to do or where to stay?
