Trying to remember early 00s tv show w TWs scene

I am trying to remember this tv show that was on in the early 2000s that was like a family comedy and had the same vibes as “Yes, Dear.” There was an episode where the young adult son got mad at the parents and moved into the neighbor’s house and the parents went over to check on him and he was just walking around in his tighty whities and the family was scandalized by his involvement with the cougar-ish neighbor. For some reason I thought Elliot Gould played the dad figure but maybe not. That’s all I remember! Any help appreciated.
