Today I decided to change my truck's oil. I decided to do it in my grandfather's brand new shop with sealed concrete floors.
Basically I started the oil change and halfway through realized that my old oil catch pan had a small hole in the bottom of it. I pulled it out and placed the only thing I could find that would fit under my truck's oil pan a small metal container.
I finish up the oil change and start cleaning up the mess of oil on the floor with shop towels but then used dirt like I'd seen people in the past. After that I backed my truck out after and ran over the metal container in the process like an idiot.
I swept that all the dirt and had residue left over so I decided brake cleaner would be best. It was not I started scrubbing and the brake clean took the concrete's seal right off.
I freaked out and mopped it six times and stopped the sealant from completely coming off. I had sprayed about 12 sq feet but luckily only about a square foot of sealant came off.
Still worried to death about what my grandfather is gonna say.
TL;DR I changed my oil and used brake cleaner on sealed concrete floors to clean up. It took the sealant off the concrete.
