I worked at a sewage pump station this summer. My company was rebuilding it, so we had these portable pumps that pumped sewage out of the well into the next station.
These things aren't efficient and get clogged. I can get overtime if I go check and unclog them 3 times a day on the weekend. It paid handsomely so I went for it.
Apparently I did this wrong despite doing it during the week all summer. The pumps had major damage on monday when my boss came back and the well was nearly full of shit. My boss accused me of never showing up, although I called my coworker when I was on site on saturday, saw the mason on Sunday morning, and had an actual conversation with two of the construction guys Sunday night, placing me on the job site.
I wasnt paid for the overtime, my boss was furious, and i cried in the bathroom.
To this day, I don't understand how I didn't properly service the pumps.
