This FU happened last night at 10PM, this post really should be on /r/offmychest but oh well.

I just got off work at 9pm my brothers bought me a ticket to go see the movie "American Sniper". I call my GF when i got off of work to chat because i haven't talked to her all day. I told her i was going to see this movie tonight with my brothers. Here is where my FU Started.

She asked me if it was Rated R (we are both Mormon, without going off topic we both see Rated R movies differently) and said that she doesn't think that its appropriate to see, but still told me it was up to me to decided to go or not.

So i thought that she was fine with me to go see it.... Ohhh no!

I get to the theater grab some popcorn and a soda. I text her that i love her and put my phone on vibrate. 5 mins into the movie i felt my phone vibrate. and it was a text asking if i went to go to the movie? I could not respond because i'm not that guy that takes his phone out during a movie.

Half way through the movie i get this wall of text (she usually is super nice and we haven't been in a big fight ever, shes 23 and i'm 25) The text basically said that she's upset that i went to that movie. She did not want me to go and i went anyways and that it sorta feels like a slap on the face. If the tables were turned and i did not like something, she said that she would not do it... She told me she knows its stupid but it is kinda of a big deal to her.

Now i feel like the worst boy friend ever! I walked out of the movie to read what she wrote me. I tried calling her but she did not pick up. I started to text her about why i feel like this is an ok Rated R movie to watch about the War going on in the world and U.S. Navy SEAL Chris Kyle.

In all honesty it was not about the Movie at all. I don't know if its a guy thing or not because i thought it was about the Movie. I was much more than that.

This morning i got a text from her saying she went to sleep crying last night not because i watched the movie, but because she grew up with a dad who disregards everything that her mom tells him and does what he wants. She grew up not being respected by men, and wants to be respected by her husband.

I really love her and i feel awful that I hurt her feelings.

TL:DR - Went to a movie my girlfriend did not want me to go see. Feels like i slapped her in the face.
