I was working today at a clients house replacing a broken piece of glass in a door. I needed to run down to the glass store to fetch the new piece of glass. I hopped in my truck and headed into town. At some point in my drive a good samaritan that had been driving behind me got my attention and motioned me to pull over. I did and she told me that my tool box had fallen out of the back of my truck about a mile up the road. Instantly I knew what happened and as I turned to look it was confirmed, I forgot to put the tail gate up my truck. Thanking the woman I quickly turned around and headed back to the spot she said it fell. When I got there my tool box was gone. It had only been on the ground about 5 minutes. In that short amount of time someone came by and decide to take it with them. I know it's my own fault for not checking the gate before I left but damn. I use those tools everyday to earn my living and as I coming to realize I had a good amount of value in there. I have to go to work tomorrow so I spent time this afternoon starting to replace what I lost. So far I have spent around $250 and I have about half of what I had in my kit before. I put an add on craigslist offering a no questions asked reward for the return but I'm not holding my breath that it will be. I feel stupid and now, broke. Thanks for reading my venting.
