Hey all... probably not the biggest fuck up in the world but I needed to let it out somewhere and I'm feel super dumb right now. Recently been trying to get into some new hobbies as I had noticed that I am pretty one dimensional with my life and wanted to change that. This will be a list of fuck ups right from the get go with this whole thing.

Fuck up 1. I bought a new computer. I got it offline. Not a big deal but I got overly excited because I have been getting into online gaming and also stable diffusion. My current setup was not powerful enough for either and I figured I had enough money to buy an okay gaming PC to start off with that I could mod down the road. I bought the computer and didn't look at spec stuff enough and recognized it wasn't going to be quite powerful enough. So I got online and purchased a new graphics card and did a smidge bit of research and noticed I had to get a new power supply. No biggie, looked to be bout the same cost as getting the more expensive computer. I thought I would be good putting some parts in.

This is technically the first fuck up but didn't reap the consequences till it arrived... I did NOT DELETE OLD ADDRESSES off of a website profile. I think I was high when purchasing the computer and somehow selected an old address even though I could have swore I picked the right one (ADHD at its finest). Computer ships and I didn't notice because it just shows the town in the description. Shows up and it's not at my door... of course I think it's UPS's fault but nope. I looked and it got delivered to my old address across town, in a not so good area of town.

I go and driver over there in a panic and thankfully... computer was there and untouched in the box. I pick it up, no harm done. Set up the computer and am still waiting for the new GPU and power source. Works alright but really excited to get those installed. Next day hits and they get delivered. I open everything, have my tools out all excited and figured I'd put the power supply in first. Took me some time but I figured it out and got the old one out. Decided to start working on getting the new GPU in. Pull the old one out and go to put the new one in and come to find the motherboard is too small. I tried to work around it and make room through popping out some metal things on the back of the case and accidently popped a capacitor off the motherboard. Fuck. After trying a few more times it looks like it doesn't fit because I DIDN'T REASEARCH AND TAKE MY TIME. I took the computer to a repair shop and they are going to take a look and advise as to what the next steps are. Already spent $500 more than I wanted and will still end up with a mediocre PC.

TL;DR: In haste and being high I purchased a computer that didn't fit the specs I needed because I was trying to be cheap but didn't have the knowledge or expertise to compensate for that. Will have to pay even more now to get it repaired and probably either pay installation fees or those on top of a new motherboard as well. Do your research, take your time.
