TIFU by Being Naive at a Car Accident

Post Body

So, I accidentally cut someone off trying to make a right turn. This is the first ever accident I was in, so I immediately apologized to the person and admitted that it was my fault. I'm also a young adult, so these kind of things are just something I'm new too and have no idea how to deal with the situation.

The person seemed nice about it saying it happens and the accident wasn't too bad. With the combination of them being nice and me being naive, the person had me write my name, address, admit it was my fault, and sign a piece of paper.

I immediately knew I was in big trouble as I stated remembering a video I watched saying that I shouldn't admit to anything even if I think I'm in the wrong. This person could twist things up or have me pay a larger amount than what I should pay. Well, I have insurance so it's up to the insurance company to deal with my case

I feel so stupid and ashamed as this could have been all avoided and tooken the L for a missing turn.

TL;DR: I was being naive and had been taken advantage of because of it.
