I have been consistently non-surprised at the level of posts lamenting never finding anyone who will engage with them in their desires.. and the near equal number who use the phrase "it's just a joke" or casually talk down.

To be clear, this isn't about preferences. If you prefer a certain body type, that's on you. Limit yourself as you please. No one cares. It is however very much about the way people are belittled for not being "your type". I don't care how passionately you feel about a specific set of body traits, no one NEEDS to emotionally harm others because they can't, don't or don't want to fit them. Be that size, orientation, body hair, disabilities or any other version that falls in that field. It's a choice being made.

The only joke are the people who lack the empathy or decency to see the problem with it.

"But I'm person of group mentioned, and I'm not bothered." Good for you. That's not everyone, and that isn't justification.
