I just had a bunch of labs done. I'm positive for Thyroglobulin Ab, Serum, Thyrotropin Receptor Antibody and Thyroid Peroxidase Antibody. I am very symptomatic for hyperthyroid but now I have to do a radiology study to figure out what the root cause of this is. I'm annoyed but I'm also not surprised. I have another AI disease and the treatment I did for it is directly related to my thyroid dysfunction. I expected this might happen but the overwhelming majority of people who wind up with thyroid disease from tx have hypothyroidism. A smaller percentage have graves and only a few have thyroiditis. I'm definitely landing somewhere in the "this is an uncommon presentation" zone as I so often do. :( My immune system was like "I can't decide how I'd like to attack this thyroid, let's do all of it."
So, radioactive dye study here I come. In the meantime, my hair is rapidly falling out. :(
I am annoyed that this couldn't be straightforward. My body loves the long odds, I swear.
