I was diagnosed with papillary thyroid cancer in December of 2017. Total thyroidectomy in Jan 2018, RAI the next month, deemed NED in March.
Last October I was declared still cancer-free, and I just had another checkup last Tuesday. Neck ultrasound looked good, and my TSH is the lowest it's been (1.25) since my thyroid came out, which is awesome!
But I'm still waiting on the thyroglobulin results. Or as one my friends jokingly calls it, the "thyro-goblins."
I'm not nervous per se, especially since the ultrasound looked good. But it's been 8 days and I'm at the point where I am dying to know. If everything is good, as my endocrinologist suspects, I just want it to be official so I can shelve it for another year. If the goblins are creeping back...well, at least I'll know.
Fingers crossed for a result today!
Update: It's now been 9 days total and still no word on the goblins. Ughhhhhhh.
Update: 10 days now. Emailed my endocrinologist, who said the test is "still pending." It's Friday and they close at noon. Currently 10:30. I'm guessing it will be early next week before I know anything. DAMMIT.
