What is the meaning of reactive lymph nodes?
Post Body

Hi all,

the final histopathology report after my TT with PTC has mentioned the following:

differentiated PTC classical variant with reactive lymph nodes.

pt2 pn0 AJCC TNM 8th classification.

AJCC prognostic stage 1.

also, in the hospital discharge summary there was a line mentioned as "bilateral level VI explored and no significant node seen".

I have doubt, that what does reactive lymph node means?

also, if there are reactive lymph node, then why anything was not taken out during surgery?

TT done in november 2022.
