In the chapter that describes the actions of the listener at post 1379. We learn that the listener receives a message with that ranks very high on the scale of originating from intelligent life. We also learn that this message contains self deciphering code so that the contents may be read immediately. The listener learns about the beauty of Earth and its eternal stable period. This "love affair" the listener has with Earth is the reason why the listener sent the do not respond message back which is eventually picked up by Yi Wenjie.

My issue is, how did the listener learn all this stuff about Earth when it seems the only message that Yi Wenjie sent into space by amplification through the sun was a signal at 12 MHz? It is just a single frequency, a monotone burst only meant to test if amplification through the sun works. How could it have contained so much information about Earth?
