I've been wondering about how the Reverend pronounced Rheneas's name, since there are 2 conflicting pronunciations out there. Pardon the IPA (stressed syllables are bolded), I'll include a recording of each:
ɹɛn-i-æs (REN-ee-as) as pronounced by Willie Rushton in this recording of Gallant Old Engine and Luke Ryan in This video on the Talyllyn Railway's YouTube channel
ɹɛn-e-æs (Ren-AY-as) as pronounced by every narrator in the TV series in episodes that feature Rheneas as a character
Considering Luke Ryan's authority on Sudrian history, that leads me to believe the first one is the right one, but that just begs the question: Where did the TV producers get that pronunciation from?
