“I’ll go with you if you need me too”

This. My husband was going to walk the dog this evening, and asked my 6 year old son if he wanted to join. My son looks up from his comfy tv-watching spot on the couch and casually says “no thanks”. He then paused, and thoughtfully looked to my husband and said “but I’ll go with you if you need me too”. See, said 6 year old hates being alone and doesn’t like the dark at all so he was worried dad would be scared on his own, and was ready to be his wingman. Love my little guy.
