Learned our contractor is a big fraud. We aren’t sure what to do to protect ourselves. He was highly recommended on Social Media in WGNO page but now hearing from people that actually have had work completed how he is using his newest projects to cover older delayed projects. We have asked for a lien release and he keeps giving excuses on why the sub hasn’t provided it - what is our recourse? Another sub let us know they are about to put a lien on a home as contractor hasn’t paid them for previous project. A recent project he finished that I connected with told me he tried to present a much higher final bill but so far in our project he has never given us one change order - does that protect us?
EDITED: I don't want to jeopardize the end of my project so I will leave the initials and that suffice for now. Once it's over I will come back and list it out. BS with TH.
