I feel like I am the only one bothered by how incompetent Josh got post-Sorkin. I'm not talking about his screw up with the launcher - that's actually classic Josh - but I mean when he started campaigning with Santos. He was acting like a neophyte. He knew better than to make a lot of the bad moves he was making with Santos and it was only Santos' reluctance to agree with him that got them as far as they did.
The final two seasons really felt like Josh was in over his head, which didn't at all fit with the idea that he was the biggest political mind in the Democratic party behind Leo. If not for the nuclear accident and Santos' natural charisma, he would have lost the election, and he almost messed it up by leaking the Vinnick story until Donna realized it was about to come out.
It's just a shame. He's beyond smart, and the show treated him that way, but he's constantly being rescued by others in those last two seasons.
