Just watching this again. 7 or 8 times I've seen this scene. Babish and Toby outside the Oval, Babish says someone should thank you for your service. My default thinking was he just meant the job he did for Bartlett. The look he gives him though almost makes it seem like the service of saving the astronauts and losing his job for it. Does anyone else see that or am I crazy?
I always just took it as the work he did during the Bartlett admin.
As a high level attorney, well-versed with the importance and consequences of not disclosing confidential information, I doubt Babish approved of what Toby did. Even if it did save lives.

Yea I think it was very sincere.
Toby was about to be fired, berated, raked over the coals in the media, and face a serious criminal prosecution.
Thanking him for his service over the whole administration would be genuine, as it is something he may never hear for the rest of his life.
But thatโs just how I took it.
