I think Michonne jumping out of the helicopter was the smartest move made in the episode. She HAD to get Rick away from all the voices in his ear. Rick notoriously needs the counsel of others and I think that apart from everyone telling him he can not leave, he also maybe is starting to believe everyone saying the CR is the last light of the world.
And I don’t think that everything with Thorne is an act. I generally think he’s got a sisterly love (or like because he did pull his gun on her). But I do think he wants to see her win, like he said.
But Michonne getting him alone, he’ll finally be able to hear the one voice that truly matters. Because as it stands, Rick and Michonne have barely spoken for more than five minutes combined in the first three episodes.
Oh and when she tells him about RJ, that’s gotta seal the deal.

the Chlorine gas was well needed to show the CRM brutality, and how far they go with keeping it a secret
with so many skipping fear after season 3, they missed the whole althea love story/navy seal novel
