Why did Shane take Andrea to the town?

Post Body

Rewatching the series for the billionth time and I don’t know why I never thought of it but why did Shane take Andrea to the little town to look for Sophia? Like I get why he took her because he was a dick and made her mad so this was a way to make it up to her however he says “I got a lead on Sophia let’s go check it out” then proceeds to rock up to some random town?

The thing that gets me the most is that Shane doesn’t believe that Sophia’s alive and is against the idea of sending people out looking for her. Sure he does his part to make peace and maintain some semblance of trust between himself and the group but what is this man talking about? Where did he get this hint? How did this particular “hint” lead him to a town somewhere near the farm? And what was the motivation behind going to look for her considering he didn’t have any passion or intent to find Sophia at all?

Food for thought let me know what yall think
