Is anyone else confused by Morgan’s character development?
I’m watching TWD for the second time. I loved what the show did with Morgan up until Season 7. He went from a normal guy trying to survive with his son, to a tragedy-stricken crazed killing machine. He then had what I thought was going to be his redemption arc, starting with the “Here’s not here” episode with Eastman (personally my favorite episode of the series).
All was going great with Morgan, but I assumed he’d learn that he was going to have to start killing again to survive. But what I was not expecting was a full blown relapse into being a crazed killing machine again. It’s as if all that he learned with Eastman went out the window. Jesus kind of roped him back to sanity, but it just felt disappointing.
Maybe the purpose was to further demonstrate how fragile his mental state was after the trauma of losing his son? Maybe going back and forth between these extremes was necessary for him to find a “healthy” medium?
Just hoping for some different perspectives.
