(Edited to correct a mistake... overlooked Josh Kaufman.)
Obviously the Blind Auditions (and other non-Live rounds) are heavily edited. It looks to me like even the order of the contestants on a given night of the Blind Auditions is changed, to maximize "excitement" or whatever you want to call it. You may already know or at least suspect this, but it's interesting to see the stats. All information was gathered from Wikipedia.
The contestant going first OR last on a given night of the Blind Auditions has a whopping 58% chance to make it to the Live Shows (7 of 12)!
The chance of any given contestant from the Blind Auditions (turning chairs or not) making it to the Live Shows is nearly 16% (12/76). If you factor out those who don't turn chairs, the chances go up to 20% (12/60), but that is still not even close to 58%.
I just quickly checked last season, and the number of those who went first or last in a Blinds episode making it to the Lives is 50% (6 of 12). It's fascinating to me that ALL 6 of Adam's Live Show contestants from both this season and last season were the first or last to go on a Blinds night! It would be interesting to look even farther back, but I'll leave that up to you. ;)
