Deathwing Command squad melee utility

I saw that you can take Lightning Claws on the Deathwing Command Squad Sgt- in the context of using them as bodyguards it seems like a net positive to take 2 squads of 2x Terminators w/claws to squeek out the extra attack from the Sgt. Is this a cheap move or just not as worthwhile as I think?
The general idea is to have Ezekiel and a chapter master move up the field while the command squads teleport in around them as needed for Bodyguard and to shred any approaching threats the infantry can't screen.
