Closing a CSP position that is deep IDM to lock in gains or let it expire?
Post Body

Example: I have sold a couple 12/11 PLTR $17 Puts. PLTR is currently at $28, which means that it needs to fall by 40% for my puts to not expire worthless.

I know that a common theta practice is a disciplined closing of the positions at 50% or 80% profit for consistent, profit locking. Would that notion also apply to a position like mine? Or should I just close at 80% and roll the wheel again?

TYPO EDIT: Sorry, I meant far OTM in the title
