What are the pros and cons of doing 5 DTE CC/CSP vs. 35 DTE CC/CSP?
I see a lot of people here opening 35-40 DTE CC/CSPs and then closing them after 1-3-5-10 days, etc. What are the benefits of doing this compared to just opening a weekly CC/CSP?
I personally almost exclusively trade weeklies because I like ending the week with money in my pocket. For those saying, that is harder to manage, they’re simply not picking limit orders entries with a weekly mindset . If for example, you STO a strangle on Monday morning right around ATM , there is a good chance you will be assigned one side, to which you close out the next week simultaneously replacing the negative amount with new credit and it’s game on . Also, with a weekly, it’s more advantageous than ever to close out profit when it hits the 50% mark, simply because your chance of obtaining the same entry point or better only improves if you happen to be in high volatility. I’ve been averaging $2500-3.5K every week since December selling KOLD weeklies sometimes with only 4 contracts! So it definitely works for me
