Look, I know that Tony was a sociopath and selfish and had his own demons, but when it came to the point where Carm was filing for divorce and even during the separation, Tony NEVER put her down in front of the kids. In fact, he did the opposite, especially with AJ. He attempted to tell AJ that he should kiss Carmella’s ass because she was the one holding things together. He never once told the kids that it was her fault. Maybe it was because he felt guilty? Idk, but from my own experience with divorce (mom married 3x when I was younger) it’s not usually like this. Parents often talk smack behind the SO’s back or pit the kids against the other parent. I just thought it was a layer of sweetness and please correct me if I’m wrong.
