I literally don’t think there is any other media better than him being in this coma.
I literally SOB every time Carmela speaks to him. Her acting is beyond top tier here. The coma dreams are SO good. There’s a hidden meaning or message or something you rediscover every time you rewatch.
For example, I just realized the coma dream takes place very soon after 9/11. Despite it not being directly mentioned, Tony says “You can’t even board a plane now without an ID.” I literally have never sat and thought about that because I have never experienced a world where you didn’t need an ID to get on a plane. And the lady wont let him in the conference because “it’s a different world now.”
Beyond that also as Tony delves into even if he chose another way of life, he somehow still falls into the same pattern of his real life.
The rising tensions of the other members trying to claw their way into his old position, them being upset Tony isn’t dead, them considering not even giving Carmela the proper amount of money or any money at all. The way no one in the second family (besides maybe Vito and Bobby) seems to give a damn and have no sympathy for him.
There are no flaws.
EDIT:
I stand corrected on my Vito statement. I posted this as I watched the scene of him saying he was gonna go see Tony and Paulie called him a fat ass kisser or something. Then I saw Vito wanting to short Carmela and being disappointed when Tony woke up. I withdraw that completely, this is my first rewatch in a long time.
