It's a Winterfest early evening, and the family is sitting at the dining room table enjoying their Grand Meal. Everyone is sharing their Winterfest spirit and excitement. It's almost time for Father Winter to arrive to hand out presents, so I start sending the little ones downstairs to the fireplace to await his arrival.

Just then I notice Mom and Dad's backgrounds are an odd shade of... pink? Not the flirty pink. Uh oh. Click on Dad. Hysterical. Mom. Also Hysterical. Oh, crap.

Immediately I start right clicking on moodlets in a frantic attempt to calm them down. Dad is safe. Mom... I was a split second too late. Even though she's now merely Happy, the damage has already been done. She's a goner.

If Grim had spared her, I would have let it go and kept going. But he wasn't having any of it. Not even on a sacred holiday such as this. In the end I save scummed back a couple of sim hours, and watched them both very carefully this time. A second Grand Meal went off without incident.

Thank goodness for UI Cheats. Without it, I doubt I'd have been able to save even Dad, and their six kids would've been scattered to the four corners of Newcrest.
