Yeah, thanks for highlighting this. I’ve gotten ripped on for saying that I’m tired or burned out from my job as a software engineer, usually from friends or acquaintances that are in a more manual labor type of industry. The thing is, is that I worked in a factory for over a decade, and yeah that was tough too, but in a different way. Both types of jobs can induce stress and fatigue, and both are valid.

I wasn’t necessarily highlighting that in particular, rather that people in more physical/manual labor job fields often have exactly zero empathy for those that express being tired or frustrated at jobs that aren’t in those fields.

I don’t really follow Hasan, so I can’t comment about him specifically. But he surely could very well be exhausted from his job. Can he compare himself to someone that doesn’t get as many breaks while having the luxuries that he has. No, that would be a bit silly.

And I’m not sure if he has or not, again I don’t follow him. It’s just that once people are in certain jobs, they aren’t allowed to complain about having a tough day, which seems somewhat unfair. It just seems that things are often turned into a competition of sorts, where if I say that my day was hard, my friend in construction would say “at least you didn’t have to work in the sun” or things to that effect. And they’re right, I didn’t. But I also wasn’t trying to quantify my bad day, or say that it was more bad than theirs, etc.
