Can’t lie these guys look a little too old to not have learnt tackle technique but also have to remind myself that not everybody has the same learning opportunities so just unlucky for the boys defending really

Playing by weight is counter productive for development! There would be a small % of players above the median comp weight so to make a team you’d have to combine different ages and therefore experience which would make lumpy gameplay and all round growth. Imagine an inexperienced 12 year old going up against a 15 year old with more experience all because they weigh the same. The small % of heavier players are majority forwards which is literally why they are in these positions. Comps by weight always sounded like it’s shunning the big boys for being big boys.
