I have had terrible personal experiences with therapists who just didn't like me. The worst I've ever been treated was when I was really vulnerable. When you're very distressed you can't really focus on how likable you are, you're just trying to stay afloat.
Just wanted to share a therapy experience of someone close to me because I still think it's so ridiculous. This person was suffering from social anxiety and was accepted into group therapy to treat that specifically. One of the generic homework exercises was to go into a cafe/restaurant and spill a milkshake on purpose. To this day I don't know what that was supposed to do other than waste milkshake.
