Modern mental health creates a narrative which says that we need the professional MH system to save us, or else we will be "sick" forever. They provide the bare minimum at insane premiums. Part of me feels my REAL problem is learned helplessness.

I'm not saying people don't need help, just that if you're paying 1-2 hundred a week for some mindfulness and cookie-cutter narratives about life, your being scammed. It took me 10 years to wake up. I was very vulnerable when I went to therapy, and I didn't think critical about it for a long time - hell they told me circuital thinking would make therapy ineffective because I would be resistant.

I'm not okay, but I'm learning to deal on my own, instead of rely on MH pros who made me feel like diseased leaper, a dumb child, or a freak. Positivity and CBT felt like a cult. Honestly I think it made me weaker and more reliant on services that don't seem designed to help.
