I was in a group thing in which our topic of discussion was mainly control of emotion. I personally have a deeply rooted hate for sex offenders. I stated my opinion they shouldn’t be released, the therapist smirks asking if there is a reason I feel so strongly… I have no problem discussing this but as I did and he began to smile more and say ooooh now we’re getting somewhere as very unprofessional. The next time I picked up this like almost sociopathic feeling from him when I was discussing trouble at work. My trouble being me caring about things has led me to conflict. Caring about the job as much as a therapist does about theirs was my example… I said I don’t have a career like you where I have to care I have to let stuff go. He proceeded to say don’t use me as an example you’ll never be like me… got very defensive and started saying I was playing the victim when I felt me saying I care to much I got myself into trouble… was taking the responsibility for it… it’s almost like he never smiled unless I was sad and pleading for him to listen… has anyone else experienced this? Is this like signs of a sociopath? I am truly feeling let down and like some people slide into therapy jobs to make others feel bad about themselves and manipulate their views of themselves….
