How do therapists actually vet other therapists? Have we all seen the people we refer to actually DO therapy? Or are we just basing this off character? Client reviews? Popularity? As I've started networking, I'm realizing all I know about these people is that I sort of know them (from grad school, work or a community event) and they have specialities I can refer for. But beyond that I don't actually know what they do in sessions! Are they using magic seer stones to talk to the dead? Are they lax in their boundaries on certain topics? Are they invalidating and egotistical? So how do you know that the therapists your referring to are good therapists?
