Hey all, just curious to hear from anyone who has worked at a healthcare organization or private practice in a director role or similar position that were excited to begin the role, but quickly learned that it wasn't what you thought or was presented by executive leadership.
Tldr, stepped down from a management role after less than two years passed recently. I wasn't given specific instructions regarding my responsibilities (ultimately, I just provided oversight with notes, consultation as needed, and helped with crisis management) When bringing relevant subjects to the table to consider (group and IOP programming, mild increase with administration time to ensure quality documentation in between cases, creating roles beyond therapeutic work), no guidance or inclusion of whether these things were on their to-do list (so to speak). I have no experience in the role (that was my first red flag) prior to being asked to consider it twice after turning it down three times. In hindsight, I am assured knowing they didn't have foresight to offer training to offer support, but just wondering if others have had this come up as well?
