Hello everyone. I’ll just get right into it.
A minor client of mine was transferred to me from a previous therapist that used to work at the practice. We’ve had a handful of sessions, still building rapport.
Client’s parent called me on my work phone and mentioned info where I may need to call DCFS (child services) and the report would be against the client. All the information I have now is what the parent told me. I cannot meet with the client and parent for three weeks since I’m getting surgery and will be recovering soon next week.
I just reached out to my supervisor saying how important it is to speak with them, but my supervisor is currently out of the country until tomorrow.
I can’t give more info about what the parent revealed however I can say it does not seem like the client engaged in that behavior but I have no way of knowing without speaking to the client first.
Do I need to report anything? I literally have only the info from the parent and not from anyone else and it also seems like there’s a possibility the info isn’t genuine.
