I work Mondays through Thursdays and when I get to Fridays I completely crash. As in sleeping on and off pretty much the whole day, almost like I would do when sick with a cold or something. This sometimes continues into Saturday, though not as much sleeping, just laying in bed.
Like I said, I only work four days a week, and Mondays are pretty light right now. I only have about 16-18 sessions per week, sometimes less based on cancelations. So I’m not sure this could be burnout?
I also enjoy my work (most of the time) and find it mentally stimulating. I have a caseload of clients I feel like I really click with, for the most part. I’m also new to the profession—graduated with masters three years ago. I have my own private practice.
It might be extra bad this week because I dealt with making a CPS report, high conflict divorce case resulting in needing to talk to a lawyer, and a client with high SI.
Anyone have similar experiences or remedies? I want to stay emotionally and physically healthy so I can continue this work for many more years.
Yes & also pushing through and exercising for an hour helps a ton!
