Hi y’all,
In r/money, I asked a psychotherapist/MSW/LSW what recommendations they had for a baby social worker about to begin their career. They encouraged that I post here and I’m interested in y’alls feed back.
My question to y’all: What would you recommend for someone who is about to begin their career? I want to steer my career in a direction that honors my passion for this work and will be able to afford me a solid and stable life.
Some background info: - I will graduate next year with my MSW with a clinical specialization and a trauma informed practice concentration from a great school. - My current work is community focused and I love it. I went the clinical route because I wanted that skill set to add to my tool belt. - Previously I’ve worked as a case manager in a community mental health setting. - I now work in the school systems as a program developer and also do direct service work.
Thank you for your help!
