I am a Psych PA starting a psychoeducation group for women with Adhd later in life diagnosed (18 ) and would love yโallโs opinions on some things as I am working on my proposal for the program and the curriculum:
I am thinking an 8-12 week program, once a week, 1hr sessions, probably 5-6 members to start. Does this sound good?
I thought we could discuss topics/struggles that are common in adhd women (self esteem, relationships, organization, time management, other executive function issues). Should I make each session about a particular topic, for example, a session on self esteem Iโd start off by discussing how self esteem can be low in someone with adhd and then go into a discussion allowing them to share experiences, maybe an exercise, etc.
-As far as therapeutic modality, is it best to utilize a specific modality in psychoeducation groups like CBT, mindfulness. Etc
Thoughts on pairing them up as accountability partners to communicate with each other in between sessions?
I have ADHD myself, thoughts on sharing my own experiences in order for them to relate/ feel like I understand how they feel?
Any other tips as far as group rules, curriculum etc that would apply to hosting a group in which all the participants have such a common diagnosis/situation?
Thank you!
