I'm currently in a PhD Art Therapy program and should hopefully be graduating in two years. I currently am an LPC working towards the LCPC license. My clients now are talk therapy. I was wondering if there are any other art therapists here and how being an art therapist has been versus strictly talk therapy? I ideally want to work as an art therapist in inpatient psychiatric units as well as in private practice (ideal plan). Just curious what other art therapist's experiences have been like and also, if you mind sharing, what got you to pursue art therapy and if it's fulfilling work. Thanks for reading.
