US Crisis line alternatives?

Post Body

Hey everyone,

Wondering what you all think. I'm struggling to feel confident in recommending the 988 crisis hotline to my clients. Most crisis lines I find seem to fall flat in terms of recommendations. I just had a client in crisis the night before who was unable to get a hold of me and tried to call the 988 crisis line, and they didn't even answer the phone when she called. Though this is the most extreme case I've personally come upon, I've heard almost all negative feedback about these lines. Usually, my clients find them unhelpful and generally patronizing or condescending.

Does anybody have alternative crisis resources that they know are better able to attune to the client's needs? Really hoping to find something new here. I'm based in the US.

Thanks
