Capcom's Remake Route

Post Body

So since Resident Evil 4 is done for as in all content relative to it has been released - assuming Krauser and Leon's Operation Javier will be released under another title - I wanted to see others' views on the next likely remakes to be made. My thought process is: 1) Next, Resident Evil (2025) and Resident Evil 0 (2026). This expands more about the only mysteries in Resident Evil 4, the plagas' prior utility and Wekser's origin and motives. This also reintroduces the new audience to Chris Redfield and revamps his origin to align more with the future Chris we see in Resident Evil 7 & Village. 2) I then think Capcom will use new story elements to tie the remakes to Resident Evil 9 (theorized or confirmed to be named Apocalypse) and release that. Especially since RE Village made the plagas connection via Mother Miranda's experiments. 3) Continuing with remakes, it makes sense that with new audiences knowing Claire from Resident Evil 2 (from now on abbreviations are RE #), Code Veronica would then be remade. Alternatively, or more accurately, in addition to Code Veronica, we should expect an updated Umbrella Chronicles and Darkside Chronicles. This may come in as DLC for Code Veronica and could complete coverage of the story missing from the remakes. 4) Then with such a passage of time, the new game engine and uniquely fresh game play mechanics, old and new fans alike are presented with Resident Evil 5 and the end of Wekser's plotline with hints towards the bigger threat of Tricell and the birth/creation of Jake Mueller, Wekser's son. 5) Now, Capcom's biggest challenges - the remaking of RE6, RE Revelations and its sequel. Since many fans feel that RE Revelations 2 was merely a retelling of Code Veronica, it may be scrapped altogether as a remake idea.

So this gives Capcom quite the number of characters to update and reintroduce, as well as viable story locations for us to explore.
