I'm almost done reading A little history of religion by Richard Holloway. The book heavily focuses on the three abrahamic religions, especially Christianity. I'd like to read something similar that perhaps goes into a bit more detail on the three religions and is a bit more balanced.
In this book, Judaism and Islam seem to be told as historical events that happened. Judaism is told better out of the two. Christianity on the other hand evolves through the chapters and it's history is told right from its founding towards the present day.
What I've enjoyed about the book is a sort of theme that is heavily critical of organised religion in how it strays from the core teachings. I'd love to read something similar but with more perspective from Judaism and Islam.
