My slightly unhinged theory on the title of the incoming album
Post Body

re: speculation that the album title acronym is "JFT", based on some digging on the image files on their website, and following the assumption that the album is about Jenny and influenced in some way by Seven Against Thebes (the 5th century BCE Greek drama).

So, Seven Against Thebes is a play about inevitable doom and a ceaseless fight against an insurmountable enemy. The Seven, led by Polynices (the elder heir) join forces to wage war on Thebes to dispute the rule of Eteocles (the younger heir). In a modern context, it might also be said to be about the futility of authority and the fragility of institutions. To the Greeks it was probably an allegory about heeding the Gods (since all of the prophecies come true, Creon's son's sacrifice saves Thebes and all seven but Adrastus die). Also, a lot of Greek myths and stories from the Hellenic era were about hubris and piety (though not the sort of supplicant piety practiced by the later Christians and Abrahamic religions).

All that to say, if the "J" indeed stands for Jenny, maybe it's something like Jenny Faces Thebes. Jenny being one of the Seven, doomed to face the impenetrable wall, but never afraid to die doing it. In all of the songs she's mentioned in, she is transient, fleeting, often high and always moving. The play is about wandering, gathering your forces for a task that was doomed from the start.

Also fascinating to me... Thebes is east of Argos, past Athens across the southern isthmus. Possibly... Jenny's headed east.
