Re-discovering Mars Volta though less popular songs
Post Body

Hi!

I've been listening to TMV for over 10 years now and for me they are something completely different when it comes to bands I like. Over the last decade my taste in music shifted from post-rock, to more prog-rock bands and lately I've been diving more into hip-hop and rap, but TMV always stuck with me. It does not matter what point in my musical life I'm at right now, Mars Volta somehow keeps surprising me after well over 10 years.

I recently hooked up my CD player and listened to Amputechture and I completely re-discovered Vermicide and Meccamputechture for me. It's not like I didn't listen to these songs before and enjoyed them, but this time the songs just resonated with me. Vermicide was always the slightly better The Widow for me, but that also changed. I never really appreciated Vermicide for being the banger it is. Currently one of my top 5 favorite songs.

Any of you guys grew to love a song over time? I'm talking about after having listened to the Tetragrammatons, Cygnus', Cassandras and Cicatriz' of this world - did a song ever bring you back from TMV-fatigue and just put them back on the map for you?
